Instagram Data Deletion

If you connected your Instagram account to PIE — for example, to complete engagement quests — you can disconnect it and have the data we obtained through Instagram deleted. This page exists to meet Instagram’s platform requirements and to make that easy.
What PIE receives from Instagram
When you connect Instagram, PIE receives only what’s needed to verify quests — such as your Instagram user ID and the specific action a quest checks (for example, whether you follow a creator). PIE does not receive your password and does not post on your behalf without your action.
Option 1 — Disconnect in the PIE app
- Open the PIE app and go to Settings → Connected accounts.
- Select Instagram and choose Disconnect.
- Confirm. This revokes PIE’s access and queues the Instagram-derived data for deletion.
Option 2 — Remove PIE from Instagram
- In Instagram, go to Settings → Apps and websites.
- Find PIE under active apps and choose Remove.
- Removing access there also signals us to delete the associated data.
Option 3 — Email us
Email privacy@pieapp.io with the subject line “Instagram Data Deletion” and the Instagram handle you connected. We’ll process the deletion and confirm by email.
What gets deleted
We delete the Instagram user ID and quest-verification records tied to your Instagram connection. We complete deletion within 30 days and confirm when it’s done. Records we’re legally required to keep — such as confirmed payout history — are retained only as required by law, and are not used for quests after disconnection.
